Community Guidelines

Last updated: 19 December 2025

Welcome to People Protect People (PPP), a community-driven safety app that helps users send and respond to SOS alerts within a 5 km radius.
These Community Guidelines explain how to use PPP responsibly so everyone can trust the alerts and responses shared through the platform.
By using the app, you agree to follow these guidelines along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Our Mission

PPP exists to make communities safer through cooperation, honesty, and respect. Every alert, response, and action in the app should reflect this purpose: protecting people, not creating panic.

2. Be Truthful and Responsible

• Only send an SOS alert when you are in real danger, need urgent help, or witness a genuine emergency.
• Describe what is happening accurately and avoid exaggeration or speculation.
• Do not use PPP for pranks, false alarms, or attention-seeking.
• Misuse of the alert system may result in suspension, permanent removal or legal action.

3. Respect Privacy and Confidentiality

• Do not share anyone’s personal information, photos, or recordings without consent.
• Avoid including faces, license plates, or identifiable details in uploaded media.
• Never post or forward sensitive information about victims, minors, or ongoing investigations.
• Location data collected through the app is for safety use only. Do not track or target others.

4. Act Safely When Responding

• Always assess the situation before intervening.
• If the situation seems dangerous, call 112 or notify authorities. Do not put yourself or others at risk.
• Use the response options (“Calling 112,” “En Route,” or “Observing”) responsibly to indicate your real action.
• Do not impersonate emergency personnel or claim authority you do not have.

5. Communicate Respectfully

• Treat everyone with respect, even in stressful situations.
• Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or abusive language are strictly prohibited.
• Do not use PPP to threaten, intimidate, or spread fear.
• Disagreements can happen. Stay calm, factual, and helpful.

6. Keep the Platform Safe and Genuine

• Do not manipulate your GPS or use tools to fake your location.
• Do not use automated scripts, bots, or third-party apps to send alerts or responses.
• Each person may have only one account.
• Report any suspicious, false, or abusive activity via the in-app “Report” option or to hello@peopleprotectpeople.com

7. Content and Media Standards

• Upload only media directly related to the alert.
• Do not share graphic violence, explicit images, or distressing content.
• Do not include logos, advertisements, or political messages in alert notes or media.
• PPP may remove content that violates these standards without notice.
• Content shared during an alert is intended to support immediate safety and coordination. Chat messages and media are temporary and are automatically removed after a limited period.

8. Enforcement and Consequences

To protect our community, PPP may take action if these guidelines are violated, including:
• Warning or temporary suspension of an account,
• Permanent account removal, or
• Referral to law enforcement if misuse endangers others or breaks the law.
Decisions are made carefully and may not always be reversible.

9. Protecting the Community

If you see something that violates these guidelines, please report it.
Reports are reviewed confidentially and help keep PPP reliable and safe for everyone.

10. Reporting Misuse

If you see a suspicious or obviously false alert, you can report it directly from the app by clicking on the Report Alert button.
Reports are reviewed automatically and may trigger moderation action if several nearby users independently flag the same alert.
Your report remains anonymous to the person who sent the alert. Our system looks at how often alerts are flagged by distinct users within the same area. Frequent misuse or multiple confirmed false alerts can lead to temporary or permanent bans.
You will always see a clear message if your ability to send alerts is limited (for example, due to too many recent alerts or suspicious activity).

Summary

People Protect People works when we look out for one another. By acting truthfully, responding safely, and showing respect, we build the trust that keeps our community strong. Safety starts with all of us. One alert, one response, one person at a time.
