Welcome to People Protect People (PPP), a community-driven safety app that helps users send and respond to SOS alerts within a 5 km radius.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Information We Collect
• Account Information: Phone number or email for authentication.
• Profile Infomation: Name, email, city, province, country, and profile picture for personalised user experience. These fields are optional or not mandatory to use this app.
• Location Data: Your approximate location is processed only when you actively use safety-related features, such as creating or responding to an alert. Location data is not continuously tracked and is used solely to determine proximity to nearby alerts and responders.
• Alert Information: Notes, optional photos, and audio when you create an alert
• Device Information: Push notification tokens (for delivering alerts).
2. How We Use the Data
We use your data to:
• Display nearby alerts and responders,
• Send relevant notifications,
• Maintain safety and prevent abuse, and Improve app reliability and performance.
We never sell your personal data.
3. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to support safety features:
• Active alerts automatically expire after a short period.
• Group chat messages and presence data are automatically deleted within 24 hours after an alert ends.
• Media uploaded to an alert (photos or audio) is automatically deleted within 14 days after the alert ends.
• Some limited, non-content alert metadata may be retained longer for safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
• You may delete your account at any time, which removes your personal data in accordance with applicable law.
4. Data Sharing
Your data may be shared only with:
• Firebase (Google LLC) for secure hosting and notifications, and
• Authorities, if required by law.

5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access, correct, or delete your personal dat
• Withdraw consent at any time, and
• Request full data deletion.
Alert data (note, photo, audio, and location) is securely stored and shared only as needed to notify nearby users.

6. Abuse Prevention
To protect users and prevent misuse, PPP keeps limited technical records such as:
• The number of alerts you send and how often you send them
• Whether an alert was reported by others as false or abusive
• General counts of how many people received or viewed an alert
All abuse detection is based only on in-app activity and community feedback and never on personal content or location history outside an active alert.
Our automated moderation system may temporarily limit or suspend an account that repeatedly sends alerts flagged by other users. These actions are based on aggregated, anonymized signals (for example, how many verified users nearby reported an alert).
You may contact us to request a review if you believe a moderation action was applied incorrectly.
7. Security
All data is securely stored.
Only you and authorized PPP administrators can modify or delete your personal account upon your verified request.
